greetings from kiwi land

Well I have been lazy. I promised to do an update in the new year, and now it's more than a week into 2007 and I'm still entry-less.
So what's happening or happened.
Christmas was quiet. A small part of the family spent lunch lunch together with my grandfather with the overshadowing thought that it was the first christmas without my grandmother. Later in the day I headed on over to my dads house to catch up and then onto another relatives house later in the evening for dinner. It was a long day in the end and as usual much distance covered visiting all the various relations once again.
Unfortunately was back at work on the Wednesday after christmas, much to do as it has been a pretty busy year for us all.
Which brings me to new year. I am not a big one for the celebrations, i'm either past it, or don't see the significance any more. So it was spent at home babysitting the dog from the bombardment of fireworks from the surrounding houses. He seemed to take it personally when the sky above the house was filled with light and sound. Dogs just look funny when they bark and try to attack the sky above them.
And that brings me to where I am now. Last week was rather busy as I prepared for this week. At the moment I am lying on the bed in my hotel room in New Zealand typing this up. I flew in on Sunday night after almost 12 hours of connecting flights and waits in terminals to finally get here. You wouldn't guess that its only a hop across the tasman, but takes so long to get over.
I am tired and still adjusting to the couple of hours sleep I have lost with the time change over. When I am waking up here at 630am, it is actually 400am at home. A bit hard to get used to, so I am trying to get early nights to catch up on sleep for the next day. At this stage the plans are open. Have been out to dinner 2 nights in a row and have been promised by our people here in NZ that they will try and take me out each night. At least that way my meals are covered and booked up on the companies expenses. As for the weekend, I booked a hire car this morning and will just see where the road takes me. The place is big enough to see plenty in a short amount of time....... I'll try not to be slack and actually take some photos ;)
So until next time
