Holy crap! Where did 2006 go?
Christmas is screaming up like a speeding train. We were reminded here yesterday that it is less than 50 days away after the annual Pageant passed through town.
Remember this entry? Well I remember filling it out, but it has been sitting on my desk ever since. At almost $200 to lodge it I kinda put it off till I could justify the expense.
Well last Friday morning my boss called me asking what I was doing at the moment and how busy I was. As always, you never say that you are really bored sitting there drinking coffee and scratching your butt. I told him that I was semi-busy, but there was nothing that couldn't be put off until later. Then he asked if I had a passport. I said no, damn well knowing that the forms were still on my desk at home. He asked "how old I was and why the hell didn't I have one?" and that I better get one quickly as I am heading of to New Zealand for a few days pronto!
I madly ran around Friday afternoon to get photos taken and the rest of the form filled out to lodge it on a 2 working day priority application which should be ready by Wednesday sometime. The method in my madness was that work ended up paying for the application and priority fee totaling $266...... After that I should be heading off either later next week or the week after...... fun stuff. BTW, someone fucked up royally and has forgotten to setup a heap of new systems for them over there, so yours truly is going to sort their shit out. Lets hope that more of this work comes my way. As our SF office comes on line in the next few months it might present some good opportunities (you reading MK?)
So after that bit of excitement, the weekend has been quiet. Next week promises to be interesting to say the least.......
Is it too early to start xmas shopping yet???? Hellllloooo duty free ;)
