So, went in and picked up the new camera today. There's a bit of a story to it and why I got it so soon. I sent off a few emails to some retailers locally, and after only having 1 response early this morning saying it was now discontinued it dampened my spirits somewhat.
I was planning on going into town anyway today to have a look around as my car was in at the dealership having some warranty work done (see pics below). After getting in just before 9am I had a relaxed coffee and breakfast at the golden arches eatery over the morning paper whilst all the 9am suit and tie people went by.
I wandered down to the particular retailer that had told me that they had nil stock and the camera was no longer available. Much to my surprise, they had one display model left on the shelf that was previously held for someone the day before and never collected. So I grabbed it on the spot. The box was missing the USB cable, so the guy gave me a USB card reader and a nice discount off a 512mb SD card. Gotta be happy with that. Of course what follows now is some pics, and expect a few more to follow in the coming weeks. The phone camera is sooooo old now.

So there you have it. Got a bit of running around done this week. The funds are extremely tight at the moment. Car registration is due next week and I lashed out and bought my big day out ticket which I almost forgot about. The camera was paid 50/50 credit card and out of my buried away savings so it wasn't a total splurge. Might even stick the old Sony on ebay for a few dollars.
The weekend involves probably going for a bit of a drive, with camera in hand of course, and probably staying indoors as it is going to be a bit warm, but not quite as scorching as the week before... btw I don't tan, I am as pale as a corpse, only because I fear the few stray moles I have threaten skin cancer and I hate getting red :( Hate to disappoint you all, not all of us aussies are bronzed and beautiful....
