grrrr, doctors

I hate to say it again.
Another average week.
Monday and Tuesday were sorta okay, flew past without too much drama.
Wednesday hit and I woke up to some not so ordinary stomach cramps and just generally feeling like crap. I was due to take the morning off anyway to take my mum to the hospital for a day surgery and ended up heading to the doctor myself. They told me that it was a 24hour bug, keep up the fluids and I should be right to go back to work on Thursday.
Well I woke up this morning feeling worse than the day before, and clearly wasn't a 24 hour bug. So I went into work, sent some emails, made a few phone calls and generally put a few fires out before going home at lunch time.
Back to the doctor again this afternoon, as they only gave me a medical certificate for Wednesday. Told me basically the same thing as yesterday and gave me the rest of the week off work.
I need the rest.
Interestingly, the person who is the most senior above me, but next below my boss came into my office an closed the door this morning. He went on to ask me how the job was going and what I thought about carrying on in the current role. I told him that at the moment the stress wasn't worth it, the job satisfaction isn't great and I feel like I am playing babysitter to quite a few people in the factory. He went on to tell me that there might be a new role opening up in a few weeks, and he was going to push for it with the boss, but I really know he was trying to get me to admit that I hate the customer contact role I currently have. It's not that I hate dealing with customers, but more about having to put up with the grief that you get when the factory fails to deliver or delivers crap, It gets hard to defend on a endless basis. Two steps forward one step back. We are getting somewhere, but its taking a while.
Anyway, enough of that crap.
I was going to go out and get drunk again tomorrow night, but owing to the current state of health, I think I may give it a miss. Or a serious review later tomorrow. I can be coaxed you know......
Hopefully tomorrow should be my last visit to the chiropractor. That will make 5 trips to a doctor in 2 weeks, more than I have had in the last year I think. Lucky the private and govt health system is footing most of the bills. Yay.
Wish me luck.
I'll leave you with a pic from this afternoon.
